Home Cinema Installation
The meaning of 'home cinema' can vary quite dramatically - for some people it means a nice TV and a good quality surround-sound system; for others it means a dedicated cinema room with reclining chairs, a huge HD projection set-up and THX approved audio equipment.
At either extreme, a real difference can be made by applying some technical expertise.
We believe that the point of a home-cinema is for it to be an immersive environment - where you can enjoy the movie in all it's splendour without distraction. We do not compromise, because you shouldn't have to.

Projectors & Projection Screens
Nothing beats a large screen set-up for that 'cinema at home' feeling!
Good quality projectors have come down in price significantly in recent years - using a budget screen it is possible to have a projector set-up for around the same cost as a 50" plasma.
We are able to provide and install extremely high-quality projection systems. Screens can be fixed or motorised and can incorporate automated masking.
The ultimate home-cinema experience is provided with true 'cinemascope' or 2.35:1 aspect ratio screens, which we are happy to offer advise on!
- Avielo - High-quality projectors, including remote light source models
- Cineversum - Very high-quality LCoS projectors, offering superb contrast ratios - made by industry leaders Barco
- Elite Screens - A wide range of projection screens to suit all budgets
- JVC - Very high-quality projectors offering superb contrast ratios and 3D support, based on LCoS / D-ILA technology

Large Format Displays - Plasma/LCD Monitors
Projectors are no longer the only option for large displays - plasma and LCD monitors are now available up to 103" diagonal in a single panel! There are a number of options in each technology from 50" upwards.
The benefits of using a display panel over a projector are mostly seen in multi-purpose rooms where ambient light is an issue. A downside is the obvious enclosure/bezel, which can detract from the feeling of immersion that a well designed projector-based system gives.
Playback - DVD, BluRay, Libraries and Media Servers
The preferred format for home movie playback at present is the BluRay disc.
BluRays are a native widescreen (16:9) format and are designed to hold entire feature-length movies in a compressed format at Full HD resolution (1080 lines x 1920 pixels, progressive scan). The upshot of this is massively increased detail and virtually non-existent motion blur when compared to DVD videos. BluRay players can also play back DVD discs.
If you haven't seen a BluRay in action, it really is a treat!
For extra convenience, systems can incorporate a disc library or media server.
Media servers can store hundreds (potentially thousands) of movies and songs in a central location and allow playback not only in your home-cinema but also any other room equipped with a player. A number of systems have recently been updated to faciltate storage of BluRay discs (which until recently was not possible due to their intrinsic encryption).
